| Structures By: hourse-rider Arch bridge: Arches are the second oldest bridge type and a classic structure. They have been around for many of years. Arch bridges are used for stretgh. the most comman kind you will find is the ones made of stone and brick,but these days are built of concreat or streal. Instead of pushing straight down, the load of an arch bridge is carried outward along the curve of the arch to the supports at each end. the weight is transferd to the supports at either end. an arch bridge sturctureis to be built to with stand heavy loads. Truss bridge: Trusss bridges are light weight structures with trusses around it to make it stable and seure. It might be light weight but it is very strong.truss bridges are for letting people cross some thing safly. frame work of beam joined together. the truss bridge is a shell structure. Suspention bridge: this is a frame structure. a suspention bridge is a type of bridge in whitch the deck is hung below suspention cables on verital suspenders. Frame structure: framing is conctruction known as light weight frame in construction. Shell structure: perpose of a shell structure: this structure with a solid outer surface and a hollow inner area for example a snail. Beam bridge: the beam bridge is desighned to be short or long and is a solid structure. this beam bridge can hold alot of weight and is most comman. solid structure: is formed from some strong piece of material. for example:::::: a bench like the one shown BY:::: hourse-rider :) | |
